Russell Sandifer is the director of production and lighting designer for the School of Dance and teaches coursework in visual design and production. Outside of the School, Russell has designed lighting for Suzanne Farrell Ballet (since 2001), for Urban Bush Women (since 1998), and designed for Seaside Music Theatre from 1986 until it closed in 2007. These designs have toured across the United States and Europe. In his career, Russell has designed almost 2,000 dance works, 85 musicals, 8 operas, and a few of straight plays. He was also the production manager and lighting director for the 2012 ACDFA National Festival.

Russell is a member of United Scenic Artists and a board and lifetime member of the American College Dance Festival Association.
