Kathleen Mary Fedore
Cultural Arts Specialist, Costume Design
School of Dance
I am passionate about Arts education for all and have worked extensively with students of various skill levels, providing education and guidance on sewing, alteration, garment construction, textiles, fabrication, stylistic interpretation, historical garment research, and preservation. For over a decade I have served also as the Director of Costuming and Production for the Southern Shakespeare Company, designing and executing detailed costuming and props for numerous mainstage and educational outreach programs. I am a fixture on the local theater scene, often providing costume and prop design services, as well as wardrobe organization techniques, for independent theater groups and schools. Outside of my medical career and costume design work, I have been an avid ballroom dance hobbyist for over 25 years. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA but make my home here in Tallahassee with my husband, Dr. Rob Fedore, a Chiropractic Physician, and our daughter, currently a creative writing and game design student.

Areas of Responsibility
I serve as Costume Designer and Costume Shop Manager for the FSU School of Dance. As Costume Designer, I assist and collaborate with students, faculty, and visiting artists, designing and creating dance and stage wear to fulfill their artistic costuming visions. While managing the Costume Shop, I maintain and organize a fully functioning costume creation and repair shop, as well as an extensive lending library of costumes and props, while watching over the University’s collection of historical dance costumes.
