- Fraser is an artist, director, and producer whose interdisciplinary work is rooted in expressions of eroticism, power, and compassion. Her navel string is buried in Trinidad & Tobago. Their wisdom teeth are buried in New York City. Fraser’s short film, nesting, commissioned by TBA21-Academy in 2023, was an official selection for the 2025 Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival and has been screened in Sri Lanka, Spain, France, Costa Rica, Barbados, and New York City. Fraser has been an artist in residence at Djerassi Resident Artists Program, The Watermill Center, BAM Fisher Studio, Movement Research and other locations. As an educator, Fraser has taught at Harvard University, in the MFA Dance Program at Sarah Lawrence, and in the School of Dance at University of the Arts. Fraser served as Rehearsal Director for Ailey II from 2016-20. She was shortlisted for the 2020 BCLF Elizabeth Nunez Caribbean-American Writer’s Prize.

Fraser, who participated in the inaugural MANCC Forward Dialogues laboratory in 2017, will return to begin her work, After the Fallow, in collaboration with performers and dramaturgs. The process at MANCC intends to bring aspects of Fraser’s durational outdoor movement practices into the studio. Fraser will work with dance improvisation and composition to develop the foundation for a movement system that holds sensuality as sacred. After the Fallow asks: what polyrhythmic patterns of disintegration offer baselines for regeneration? What seeds desire? Within cycles of sustainable creative production, what ways of being might become imagined after a period of rest or fallow? After the Fallow moves with queer diasporic Caribbean erotics to formulate constructions of speculative mythological archetypes. Fraser will also work with text, archive, sound, video, and recording, in a series of play-making experiments.
