Other Information

The Florida State University School of Dance seeks an insightful leader and collaborative faculty advocate to provide a shared vision within our well-established and highly productive dance-training program.  With an eighty-year history and exceptional leadership, the School of Dance pioneered the conservatory within the university model of dance education.  Our program continues to be nationally regarded and hailed as a “gem in the crown” of Florida State University.  Situated within a top ranked research university, the School of Dance offers three degrees (BFA, MA, & MFA)  and sponsors expansive opportunities for student and faculty research and creative endeavors.  Faculty, students, and guest artist make and perform dances in superb facilities that include seven dance studios, proscenium and black-box theaters, audio, video, photography and digital media studios and labs, a dance conditioning studio, and technology enhanced classrooms.  The School houses the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC) and offers satellite programs in New York City, Paris, France, and Valencia, Spain for our Tallahassee based dance majors.  Current and emerging foci include programs in the dance sciences, digital media technology, and advanced studies in dance history and theory.
