Before being appointed as Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Weishar served as dean of the School of Entertainment Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design. Prior to his time at SCAD, Weishar was a Film and Television professor at New York University Tisch School of the Arts where he taught computer animation and digital art. Weishar has extensive private sector experience in design and animation development management, and worked with a number of video and new media technology companies as well as creative firms and advertising agencies. He earned his degree at Union College in 1983 and studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. Weishar is the author of three books on computer animation and digital art.
