Coordinates all College facilities and major equipment operations including coordination of building and facility projects, renovations, modifications, maintenance/repairs, and space planning within the College of Fine Arts. Works closely with senior leadership to promote the College’s mission and priorities related to facilities and building management. Identifies, diagnoses, and initiates resolutions to facility issues. Has stewardship of College’s dozens of pieces of major equipment and vehicles. Reviews, analyzes, develops, interprets, and implements policies and procedures essential for the safe and effective management of CFA facilities and equipment. Coordinates space management to ensure optimal utilization of space and facilities. Oversees building security in coordination with departmental security coordinators. Manages employee(s) assisting with these duties. Oversees the purchase of building and maintenance service agreements and facilities related purchases. Monitors expenses for facilities, equipment, and projects and creates long-range plans and budgets for facilities upgrades and emergency expenses. Researches costs and obtains competitive estimates to secure optimal pricing for goods and services. Participates in planning and implementation of long-range facilities/equipment priorities, including expansion, building development, and space utilization projects. Liaison between the College and FSU Facilities Department as well as external vendors and subcontractors.
A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma or equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.) Experience coordinating facility projects and building maintenance. Experience identifying potential health and safety hazards is required as is an understanding of major equipment and vehicle maintenance. Experience monitoring budgets, creating long-range plans, and obtaining quotes for projects. A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver’s license or the ability to obtain. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred candidates with experience managing employees.
