The FSU School of Dance will host Summer Lee Rhatigan for master classes and summer intensive auditions, January 26-27, 2018 on the campus of Florida State University in Montgomery Hall. Summer serves as the Artistic Director and Teacher for The San Francisco Conservatory of Dance (SFCD). She was a former dancer with the London Festival Ballet (now the English Ballet), National Ballet of Canada, Oakland Ballet, LINES Ballet, and the San Francisco Opera Ballet.
Each year, students from the School of Dance attend the SFCD Summer Intensive Program.
“We are excited about the opportunity for our students and students in the local dance community to audition right here in Tallahassee” says La Toya Davis-Craig, SOD’s Director of Special Programs.
The three sessions of the Summer Intensive aim to advance students’ artistic development and broaden the realm of their possibilities. Students are taught by world renowned faculty and receive advanced training in ballet and modern technique, William Forsythe’s Improvisational Technologies, and Ohad Naharin’s Gaga movement and language repertory.
The auditions are open to students 18 and older with pre-registration. Students interested in auditioning must register at least 24 hours in advance. Auditions are Saturday, January 27 from 1:00-2:45 pm.
