Moss is the first recipient of our new partnership project with Dance Theater Workshop (NY), one of the leading contemporary dance presenters in the United States. Through this partnership Moss receives a two-week research and development residency at MANCC and then will be presented by Dance Theater Workshop in 2009. Moss is an award-winning director, dance and video artist. He creates multidisciplinary projects and artist collaborations that surface through exhibitions, broadcasts, installations and presentations. At MANCC, he is developing "Kisaeng becomes you" with Korean choreographer Yoon Jin Kim, composer Okkyung Lee and 5 female Korean dancers. The multimedia work is inspired by the lives and poetry of Korea's Joseon Dynasty [1400-1900] artist/courtesan called "Kisaeng". They will focus their time at MANCC creating and developing the interviews, dances, videos, and diaries that inform the work. Please join us for Dean's entrypoints to see his work in development.
