Summer Intensive Dance Workshop
June 21 – July 11, 2015
NEW THIS YEAR – The FSU School of Dance has expanded the summer intensive dance workshop to 3 weeks! By adding an additional week, we hope to provide each student a more in-depth experience in ballet, pointe, contemporary and conditioning.
(Ages 14 - 18)
Daily classes will consist of ballet, pointe, contemporary, conditioning, and repertory. Students will have the opportunity in the evenings to choose class offerings such as jazz, improvisation, hip hop, composition, and pointe variations. Additionally, Jen Atkins, dance historian, will share her expertise through film offerings and lectures.
All classes are held in the studios of Montgomery Hall on Florida State's campus. Dancers are housed in Ragan's Hall (with graduate student counselors), within walking distance of Montgomery Hall. For more information on housing visit housing.fsu.edu.
Auditions will be held Sunday, February 1 from 9am - 11:30am in Studio 215 in Montgomery Hall. The audition is in conjunction with the Suzanne Farrell Workshop for Young Dancers. (Dancers are not required to participate in the workshop to audition.) Please download the audition application from the brochure and SEND YOUR APPLICATION AND $20 FEE AT LEAST ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE AUDITION DATE. Space is limited.
