Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Contemporary Dance, Florida State University
The Florida State University seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of Dance to teach
undergraduate and graduate courses in all levels of contemporary dance technique. The
ability to also teach one or more of the following content areas is desired: improvisation,
dance composition, ballet, pedagogy, dance technology, dance and video, dance science,
somatic practices, and/or repertory. Additional duties will include mentoring and
directing student work, academic advising, participation in student assessment and
audition processes, appropriate committee membership, and recruitment activities.
Qualifications include demonstrated teaching ability and experience in contemporary
dance, MFA degree in dance or comparable professional experience and credentials.
