This announcement covers two separate Assistant Professors of Dance (tenure track) positions in ballet technique and performance, and in contemporary technique and performance.

 

Salary Range

Minimum $52,000.  Maximum negotiable.

 

Qualifications

Demonstrated teaching ability and experience in ballet technique and performance, or in contemporary technique and performance. MFA degree in dance or comparable professional experience and credentials.

 

Responsibilities

The School of Dance seeks to hire two Assistant Professors of Dance to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in all levels of ballet and contemporary technique. The ability to also teach one or more of the following content areas is desired:  improvisation, dance composition, pedagogy, dance technology, dance and video, dance science, somatic practices, and/or repertory. Additional duties will include mentoring and directing student work, academic advising, participating in student assessment and audition processes, appropriate committee membership, and recruitment activities.
